Gauteng is the smallest province in South Africa and accounts for only 1.5% of the country's land area. But it is home to more than a quarter of South Africa’s population with the largest city Johannesburg which is the largest city in the world and a 25 minutes drive from Pretoria.
Gauteng is the wealthiest province and financial hub of South Africa. It also contains the administrative capital Pretoria and other large areas such as Montana, Pretoria East, Waterkloof, Midstream, Midrand, Ekurhuleni, Sandton, Fourways, East Rand, and Vanderbijlpark.
Gauteng is the most attractive province with a population of approximately 16.1 million. Gauteng's northern border province is the Limpopo Province. It also borders North West to the west, Mpumalanga to the east, and the Free State to the South with the Vaal River that separates these two provinces. Gauteng is the only province of South Africa without a foreign border.
